Bakamla Held FGD Indonesia Maritime Spatial Management

On Wednesday January 16th 2016, Indonesia Coast Guard (Bakamla) held a Focus Group Discussion regarding Indonesia Maritime Spatial Management in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Its theme was “Through an integrated Maritime Spatial Management, we actualize the world’s maritime pivot”.


The event was commenced by Deputy of Information, Law and Cooperation, CDRE Maritime Eko Susilo Hadi, S.H.,M.H. and was attended by Bakamla’s workgroup, FKPD Tk.1 and FKPD Tk II Province of West Kalimantan as well as stakeholders.


Chief of Bakamla, in his speech that read by Deputy of Information, Law and Cooperation, conveyed that FGD was intended to enhace the knowledge, sharing information and experience as well as opinion in order to enhace the sinergy and solidity. It was also intended to understand well the problem and its obstacles in developing and maintaining a national maritime spatial management, as well as formulating solutions in addressing all the problem.


Moreover, it is expected to gain thoughts and concrete recommendations in formulizing the management of maritime spatial with a comprehensive and mutidimensional understanding for national interest. It was the form of national responsibility to the ratification of UNCLOS 1982.

The event was also attended by experts from ITB, Prof. Ir. Roos Akbar, M.Sc., Ph.D. and Prof. Dr. Ir. Benedictus Kombaitan , M.Sc.
